Reporting to the Vice President, Global Product Management, the scope of the Director, Product Management is to lead and direct all product management activities for the Special Hazards portfolio globally, and in line with the overall business strategy. This role is a key enabler of long-term revenue growth and profits (both organic and inorganic). You will possess expertise in a wide range of standard product marketing methodologies and processes, solving complex product challenges and be a key driver to implement effective, process-based countermeasures which lead to the desired, sustained performance using data driven analytical tools. You will be a true leader, managing a team of product managers and collaborating with dynamic cross-functional teams of engineers, sales leaders, and channel experts. Possessing an ability to self-direct and exercise independent judgment, the product management leader will have effective interpersonal skills and champion customer focus in all aspects of the role. How you will do itDrive product line revenue, growth and profitability, ensuring that product line meets AOP targets. Immediate focus will be connected security products. Drive new product development projects via the stage gate Product Development Portfolio process from the beginning phase of scoping the product through to the end phase of launch of the product. Lead Voice of the Customer (VOC) efforts to ensure that proposed product concepts meet the needs of the customer and provide value differentiation. Develop and implement plans to lead entire life cycle of all products from launch through obsolescence. Identify, recommend, and facilitate partnerships/alliances with other firms to strengthen the product portfolios to improve sales and distribution channels success. Generate and maintain competitive market analysis. Drive identified market growth initiatives including development, implementation, and control plans. Conduct regular team review meetings to ensure program success. Key contributor to strategic plan development to provide long-term product line direction and life cycle management; similarly contribute to the annual operating plan development. Define market needs for new products; lead new product development teams and coordinate with external strategic partners to maintain a competitive product offering. Provide product development team leadership including establishment of project team, PDP review presentations, generation of product specifications (MRD/PRD), launch plans, PR coordination, MarCom coordination and sales plan development. Develop annual pricing strategies with justifications that include competitive product comparisons, internal portfolio rationalization and overall market trends. Work with MarCom to increase product visibility and lead generation via news releases, application notes and technical articles. Lead local and regional product marketing personnel to ensure products and solutions meet local market needs. Direct and manage product managers and product marketing personnel to ensure product launches are effective and achieve sales goals. Develop sales tools, i.e., presentations, seminars, application notes, product demos, technical documentation and competitive analyses to assist sales force. Develop sales and customer service training tools and conduct training sessions. Provide input for literature, advertisements, and other MarCom components. Participate in trade shows. Develop and implement all sales training activities to ensure alignment with the Marketing Strategy/ Plan. Stay ahead of market trends and developments in the Special Hazards Fire Suppression products industry by maintaining communications with specialists, regulatory agencies, and organizations, standards bodies, and reviewing published literature. Stay on top of market trends and developments of Special Hazards Fire Suppression solutions, distributions, and platform providers. Direct staff and work with partners to ensure effective products and solutions. Leading larger teams of direct and indirect reports What we look for RequiredBachelor's degree . 10
years' experience in Product Management. Experience and knowledge in connected products and platforms. Experience working in a global environment and International markets (including emerging markets). Direct field sales experience and/or direct market domain and segmentation knowledge teams. Demonstrated project management skill and experience Proven success in leading, planning and implementing successful product line programs. Expertise in full product life cycle management. Proven analytical, commercial, and financial skills. Digital acumen and fluency Strong business acumen with experience managing a P&L Strong ability to synthesize the needs of the customer to develop new offerings and results. Excellent verbal and written communication skills A flexible and open approach with evidence of strategic thinking, creativity, and vision in driving growth. Self-motivated, results-oriented, and possessing a strong sense of urgency. Strong leadership, interpersonal, presentation, time management and organization skills. Salary Range:
$250K -- $500K+
Minimum Qualification
Technical Product ManagementEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
